On October 31st, Prof. Peter Halley, Dean of the School of Chemical Engineering and Technology University of Queensland, Australia, visited XJTU, and discussed the issues about the establishment of Xi'an Jiaotong University-University of Queensland Chemical Joint Laboratory and the 3+1+ joint training of undergraduate students. Prof. Geoff Wang and Ms. Angela Li from the University of Queensland accompanied the visit. Deputy Director Lei Yanjun of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, Prof. Zhang Zaoxiao, Party Secretary of SCET, Prof. Fang Tao, and Prof. Yang Fusheng attended this meeting
At the exchange meeting, Deputy Director Lei Yanjun first expressed a warm welcome to the delegation of the University of Queensland, and then briefly introduced Xi'an Jiaotong University. Prof. Peter Halley expressed his support and expectation of cooperation with Xi'an Jiaotong University. The University of Queensland School of Chemical Engineering and Technology will vigorously promote the rapid development of this cooperation.

On November 1st, Prof. Geoff Wang also gave an academic report on carbon capture in metallurgical processes, which was welcomed by teachers and graduate students.
